We are pleased to announce the arrival of High Bank’s newest recruit, Vita Frances…
High Bank has been quiet in the blog-world for a couple of weeks as we took delivery of the latest addition. Named after one of High Bank’s Horticultural heroines (as a High Bank friend said, it was either going to be that or Gertrude!) Vita is sleeping her way through her first couple of weeks of life but will soon begin her botanical training. It should be no time at all before she is weeding, hoeing, sowing and picking. She is the perfect bundle of love, making High Bank a brighter place and already content to snooze in the greenhouse while around her the young vegetable plants are potted on, keeping the produce coming. n.b. Vita’s beautiful blanket is courtesy of wool wizard and High Bank’s special friend the snail of happiness.
Meanwhile in the garden, summer appears to be coming to us in sporadic glimpses, simply not good enough for the young tomato and sweet pepper seedlings that are crying out for an even warmth. We have however finally begun to plant some crops outside including broad beans and mange tout. Slug patrol starts here.
Sky blue, temp 17c.
Time for G&T. Cheers to Vita Frances…
